Let's be honest, we have heard this a million times. Yes, exams are important and they are essential for your future but they are NOT the only thing that defines you.
While universities like Harvard and Oxford do accept students with outstanding grades, they focus more on well-rounded students rather than those excelling only in education. They want determined students who care for the world, who participate in what makes them ‘tick’.
Staying true to the topic at hand, exams do not define you. Although someone might get an A* in a subject you didn't get an A* in, they may not have the same talent as you when it comes to something else like sports, etc. We are all different and operate differently. Personally, I look at as exams as a way to test my abilities. Not of academic knowledge but my ability to endure immense pressure, my dedication and my ability to prioritize. If I do well in my exams, it means I have succeeded in these aspects.
All that being said, exams are crucial to building you as a person. They teach you time management, dealing with stress and much more.
To anyone reading this, best of luck for your exams and please remember that you NEED to prioritize your mental health. This is probably the most crucial thing I am writing about. My opinion is that if studies start taking priority over your mental and physical health, you need to take a 100 steps back and re-evaluate whether numbers on a paper are worth gambling your life for.
